1. Who we are
Smart River Shore is a small studio in Minato City, Tokyo. We make plain, comfortable underwear for women: everyday bras, briefs and simple matching sets. This page explains how we handle personal information when you visit this website or write to us about one of our pieces.
For the purposes of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI, 個人情報保護法), the business that handles your information is Smart River Shore. You can reach us at softveil@gmail.com, by phone on +81 3-6804-3182, or by post at 2-chōme-13-6 Minamiaoyama, Minato City, Tokyo 107-0062, Japan.
2. What we collect
This site has no accounts, no online checkout and no newsletter form, so we collect very little. There are two ways personal information reaches us.
First, when you write or call. If you email or phone us to ask about a bra, a brief or a set, we receive whatever you choose to tell us: usually your name, your email address or phone number, the piece you are interested in and your usual size. If an enquiry goes further and we agree an order with you, we will also need a delivery address and a name for the parcel.
Second, when you browse. Like any website, the server that delivers these pages can record technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the visit. We do not combine these records with your name or enquiry.
3. Why we use it (利用目的)
We use personal information only for the purposes below, and we do not use it for anything else without asking you first.
To answer your questions about our underwear, including sizing, fabrics, availability and prices. To confirm the details of an order with you and to arrange delivery, payment and any return or exchange that follows. To keep a record of our correspondence and transactions. To keep the website working and to understand, in broad terms, which pages are read. To meet legal obligations, for example if a public authority lawfully asks for records.
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and there is currently no mailing list.
4. Cookies and similar technology
When you first open the site, a small banner asks whether you accept cookies. Your answer is stored in your browser so that we do not ask you again on every page. This is the only cookie that we set ourselves.
Some pages embed a Google Map showing our address, and the site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When these load, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's own privacy policy. We do not control those cookies.
At the time of writing, this site does not run analytics or advertising trackers and does not follow you across other websites. If that changes, we will update this page before the change goes live. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, or choose the reject button on the banner. The pages will still work, although the map or fonts may look different.
5. Sharing with other parties (第三者提供)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give it to third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect a person's life or safety.
Two kinds of outside service may handle information on our behalf. A courier or postal service will see your name, address and phone number if we ship a parcel to you. Our email is run through Gmail, a service of Google, so enquiries you send us are stored on Google's servers, which may be located outside Japan, including in the United States. We use that service only to receive and answer correspondence.
6. How we keep it safe (安全管理措置)
Enquiries are kept in a password-protected mailbox that only the people running Smart River Shore can open. We do not take card numbers or other payment details through this website. We keep printed copies, if any, in the studio and shred them when they are no longer needed.
We keep correspondence only as long as it is needed for the purposes in section 3, and for any period that the law requires us to keep transaction records. After that we delete it.
7. Your rights (開示請求等)
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to stop using it, or to delete it. Write to softveil@gmail.com or call +81 3-6804-3182. We will first check that the request comes from you, for example by replying to the address we already hold, and we will then respond without undue delay.
If we cannot grant a request in full, we will tell you why. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so that we can try to put it right.
8. Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us details, please tell us and we will delete them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this page when our practices change or when the law does. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change affects how we use personal information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
